Watch This Dolphin Getting High On Pufferfish Toxins

This dolphin can be seen encouraging the minuscule pufferfish to release its toxins for recreational purposes. Initially looking like it is playing with, or even trying to eat the fish, it is believed that in fact, it is trying to get high from the toxins. But it’s not being greedy, as it can be seen pushing the puffer fish towards the divers, perhaps encouraging them to join in, according to Peter Koen.

Peter said: “It is generally agreed amongst researchers that they do this with pufferfish because they are after the toxins the pufferfish releases when it is disturbed by a predator. They say they do so because the toxins are a drug to them and they enjoy the intoxicating effect it induces."
