A video has gone viral over the last week of a kind gentleman releasing an adorable squirrel into the wild. Which sounds extremely cute, until you get to the horrible "nature is brutal" twist ending, which unfortunately anybody could see from a mile off.

The man tenderly strokes the squirrel before setting it free, whilst a woman films him. "Look at the camera and say goodbye, Hoss," he tells the squirrel. "Go up the tree".

Gently, and reluctantly, he puts his friend onto the tree and it begins its climb. Which is where things take a rather unfortunate turn for the squirrel and squirrel fans. 

Be warned, this video is a tad distressing, so brace yourself. Nature is cruel.
