Maddy is an editor and writer with a background in biochemistry, which she studied at the University of York. Her areas of expertize include developmental biology, genetics, and anything with a health/medicine spin, although she especially enjoys covering weird animal stories, archaeology, and the environment. As deputy editor of IFLScience’s e-magazine, CURIOUS, she commissions (and sometimes writes) features exploring unanswered questions in science, and reports on the key scientific dates to look out for each month. Maddy previously worked in scientific publishing, proofreading articles for a world-leading journal. Outside of science, she is most at home by the sea with a good book and a scruffy dog.
